LAYERS is a mobile application for creative photo editing — specifically for placing styled text behind the subjects of your photos. The app is developed and operated by an individual developer. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at: [email protected].

1. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Images and media you choose to import from your device gallery or camera for editing purposes. • Text content you add to your designs. • Feedback or feature requests you submit.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers. • Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / AAID) — used by our advertising partner (Google AdMob) to serve relevant ads. • IP address — collected by Google AdMob for fraud prevention, frequency capping, and approximate location (country/region level). • Ad interaction events — impressions, clicks, and ad response status, to measure ad performance. • App usage data: features used, session duration, and crash reports — collected anonymously. • App version and build number.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not require account creation or email addresses to use the app. • We do not collect your name, date of birth, or physical address. • We do not access your camera or microphone without your explicit permission. • We do not track your precise GPS location (though our advertising partner may infer approximate country/region from IP address). • We do not have access to your contacts.

1. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To provide and operate the core editing features of the app. • To process images on-device using integrated machine learning algorithms — this processing happens entirely on your device and images are never sent to our servers. • To diagnose technical problems and improve app stability via crash reports. • To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the user experience. • To respond to your feedback and feature requests.

1. On-Device Processing

All photo editing, subject segmentation (background removal), and image export operations happen entirely on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party server for processing. The final exported images are saved directly to your device's photo gallery.

1. Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party SDKs. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

• On-device processing libraries — all image processing happens entirely on-device; no image data is sent to external servers. • Third-party fonts — font assets are bundled within the app and do not make network requests at runtime. • Analytics & crash reporting (PostHog, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Analytics) — anonymous, aggregated usage and crash data to improve stability and understand feature adoption. • Google AdMob (advertising) — we display advertisements supplied by Google AdMob within the app. AdMob and its ad partners may collect and process: Android Advertising ID (AAID), IP address, device type and OS version, coarse location (country/region), app information, and ad interaction events. This data is used to serve personalised or non-personalised ads depending on your consent choice, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads). For more information, see Google's Advertising Privacy Policy and How Google Uses Data.

1. Data Retention

We retain anonymous analytics and crash report data for up to 12 months to identify trends and regressions. Photos and projects you create are stored only on your device. Deleting the app removes all locally stored project data. We have no copies of your images or creations.
